Sony Ericsson m600i – mac OS
Basically, plug the phone in using a USB cable. and run wvdialconf with root priviledges (sudo)
Then edit the resulting /etc/wvdial.conf to add the missing parts, so it looks something like this:
Code:
[Dialer Defaults] Init1 = ATZ Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 +FCLASS=0 Init3 = AT+CGDCONT=1,"IP","internet.tele2.se" Modem Type = USB Modem Baud = 460800 New PPPD = yes Modem = /dev/ttyACM0 ISDN = 0 Phone = *99***1# Password = pass Username = name
I had to add the Init3 thing and phone number (*99***#), and add dummy pass/name, as wvdial wants them.
Then start Internet with
Code:
wvdial
and I was connected!
<edit>
…and once this was done, setting the phone up to use Bluetooth was also a breeze.
Following the advice regarding Installing Bluetooth and dialup packages and Configuring the rfcomm device found at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BluetoothDialup, all I had to do was to make a copy of the /etc/wvdial.conf above (named it /etc/wvbt.conf), change the Modem line from
Code:
Modem = /dev/ttyACM0
to
Code:
Modem = /dev/rfcomm0
and then use this connection with
Code:
wvdial -C /etc/wvbt.conf
