Motorola V3xx to 15″ MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz w/ 1Gb RAM

These are the settings I used to connect my Motorola V3xx to my 15″ MacBook Pro 2.16 GHz w/ 1Gb RAM:

Setting up the handset
1. On the handset, press the Main Menu button.
2. Scroll to Settings and press Select.
3. Scroll to Connection and press Select.
4. Scroll to Bluetooth Link and press Select.
5. Scroll to Find Me and press Select.
6. When asked to Turn Bluetooth on? press Yes.

Pairing the devices
1. On the PC, click the Bluetooth icon, then click Turn Bluetooth On.
2. Click the Apple icon, then click System Preferences.
3. Click Bluetooth.
4. Click Set Up New Device.
5. Click Continue.
6. Tick Mobile Phone, then click Next.
7. The Bluetooth Setup Assistant will detect the handset.
8. Click the handset, then click Continue.
9. A Passkey will be displayed on the PC.
10. On the handset, a Bond With prompt will appear, press Yes .
11. Enter the number displayed on the PC, then press Ok.
12. On the PC, tick the option to Use a direct higher speed connection and click on Continue.
13. In the GPRS CID String field, type *99#.
14. Check Show All Available Scripts and click to select Null Modem 115200 from the list.
15. Click Continue.
16. Click Quit.

Setting up the connection
1. On the PC, click the Apple icon, then click System Preferences.
2. Click Network.
3. Click the drop down for Location, then click New Location.
4. Type CNG Data for the name, then click OK.
5. On the TCP/IP tab, click on the drop down for Configure IPv4, then click on Using PPP.
6. Click the PPP tab.
7. Type ISP@CINGULARGPRS.COM in the Account Name field.
8. Type CINGULAR1 in the Password field.
9. Ensure that the Telephone Number is *99#.
10. Click PPP Options.
11. Uncheck the option for Send PPP echo packets.
12. Check Use TCP header compression and Connect using a terminal window.
13. Click OK.
14. Click the Bluetooth Modem tab.
15. Ensure that the Modem is Null Modem 115200.
16. Untick the options for Wait for dial tone, then click Apply Now.
17. From the menu bar, click the Phone icon and then click Bluetooth.

Making the connection
1. On the PC, click on the Phone icon, then click Connect.
2. When the Terminal window appears, type in at+cgdcont=1,”IP”,”isp.cingular” and press the return key.
3. Type in atdt*99# and then press the return key.
4. Click Continue.
You will now be connected to the Cingular data service.
