Setup Dialup Connection:

  1. Install Bluetooth adapter to your computer.
    • Windows XP SP2 will install automatically for many Bluetooth adapters.
    • Otherwise follow the installation instructions for your adapter.
  2. Pair phone to computer.
    • Once paired computer will usually install modem automatically.
  3. Next set up a new connection.
    1. Control Panel
    2. Network Settings
    3. Network connections
    4. Create a New Connection
    5. Click Next
    6. Connect to the Internet
    7. Set up my connection manually
    8. Dial up modem
    9. Select the previously installed Bluetooth modem
    10. Give your connection a name
    11. Phone number is *99#
    12. Leave name and password blank

Enter Init String for your data plan

  1. Go to Control Panel
  2. Phone and Modems
  3. Select Modems Tab
  4. Highlight your Bluetooth modem
  5. Select Properties
  6. Select Advance
  7. Enter at+cgdcont=1,”IP”,YOUR APN

Now u can access internet on your phone.

    here in the richmond area, i had to use a different initiation string shown in step 7 above
    instead of at+cgdcont=1,”IP”,“YOUR APN“

    i used what the string that my motorola krzr (setup by tmobile) used:

    at+cgdcont=1,”IP”,”internet3.voicestream.com”

    if you don’t have an earlier phone from your carrier set up for web access, then simply ask a friend to connect his to his computer and pull up the initiation string
